Pero nos hemos acostumbrado demasiado a hacer las listas negras de los lugares que nunca visitaríamos, de las latitudes que nos parecen insoportables, de los pueblos y costumbres que nos dan miedo. Y ahora preguntamos, ¿esas listas las hemos hecho nosotros, o han sido inducidas por otros? Los intereses económicos de la grandes corporaciones económicas, y los países que quieren controlar el planeta, nos susurran al oído que determinados comportamientos, que determinadas costumbres, que determinados países y determinadas gentes, son peligrosos, cuanto más lejos los pongamos de nosotros mejor, no son dignos de ser visitados, de ser conocidos, de ser descubiertos.

¿Qué es más peligroso, visitar la ciudad de Túnez o el centro de París, donde han habido muchos más atentados que en Túnez? ¿Qué es más peligroso visitar Albania o Estados Unidos, donde los homicidios por arma de fuego son una epidemia nacional? ¿Por donde se pasea con mayor tranquilidad, por el centro de Khartoum, en Sudán, o por las tristemente golpeadas Ramblas de Barcelona? ¿Qué es más peligroso, salir de casa o quedarnos encerrados en ella?

 

Todo es muy relativo, al final todo es una decisión propia. Al final depende de uno mismo, y de sus actos en cada instante, la peligrosidad que vaya a tener nuestro viaje queda definida por nuestras decisiones y actos, porque cada uno de ellos tiene una consecuencias, a veces favorable y otras muchas desfavorable.

Y de repente lugares maravillosos caen en el olvido. Y de repente dejamos de visitarlos y hacemos que  caigan en balde sus esfuerzos por atraer visitantes, hacemos que sus economías caigan en desgracia, y que las infraestructuras incipientes (en muchos casos) para atraer turismo de calidad y seguro dejan de ser prioridad y terminan por empeorar más y más. Alguien nos dice que va a visitar Armenia y le espetamos un: “¿eso es peligroso?” Porque nos dejamos llevar por nuestro desconocimiento, por los miedos que otros nos inducen, por las decisiones de hundir y deprimir económicamente determinadas regiones del planeta para sacar tajada de ello.
